- dairy products such as yoghurts are a valuable source of highly absorable calcium – Calcium is needed for the maintenance of normal bones and teeth,
- they are a source of high quality protein with the proper ratios of exogenous amino acids (i.e. ones your body is incapable of producing on its own),
